Prerequisites:
🔹 You must have a Xiaomi account that is at least 30 days old. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one and wait 30 days before proceeding. If you already have an existing account, you can use it. However, keep in mind that there is a monthly limit on bootloader unlock requests per account. Using the same account on multiple devices excessively may cause issues.
Step 1: Update the Xiaomi Community App
đź“Ś Update the Xiaomi Community app to version 5.3.31 or later. As of the time of writing, the Google Play version is 5.3.30, so if your app version is outdated, you can download the APK from this link and install it manually.
Step 2: Change Region Settings
🌍 Go to the “Me” section in the Xiaomi Community app and navigate to Settings > Change Region. Set your region to “Global”.
Step 3: Unlocking the Bootloader
🔓 In the “Me” section, tap on “Unlock Bootloader”.
💡 This option may not appear immediately; if you don’t see it, close the app, wait a while, and try again later.
Step 4: Apply for Bootloader Unlock Permission
📩 Click on “Apply for Unlocking”.
📅 If you see a message like “Access granted until 15/02/2024”, it means you have successfully obtained permission (the date will vary).
⚠️ However, if you get the “Application quota reached” error, try again at 19:00 (7 PM) local time. Since the system follows China Standard Time, it may show 00:00 instead.
Step 5: Enable Developer Options
🛠️ Go to Settings > About Phone, then tap OS Version 8-10 times to enable Developer Options.
➡️ Next, navigate to Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options and click on “Mi Unlock Status” to link your Xiaomi account.
âś… If you receive a “Successfully added” confirmation, wait 72 hours (3 days), then use the Mi Unlock Tool on your PC to unlock the bootloader.
